Today's the Ides of March.

I did a little checking to see when exactly it fell and it turns out that it's today. My search for Ides introduced me to Kalends and Nones -- I'd never heard of them. There are even rhymes (mnemonics) to help remember which dates each falls on each month. The learning continues.

Notwithstanding the fortunes of Julius Ceasar, here's hopin' the Ides aren't cause for concern.

Got some work done this evening. Made some SMART Notebook and SMART Ideas(R) files which I hope to have posted later today. While shopping at google for hits on "SMART Notebook" I happened across some great resources and testimonials on the SMART Board(TM) interactive whiteboard (SBiw)and its supporting software.

Some nice Viewlet and FAQ work done by Professor Martin.

Lots of great resources available at SBiw in the Legal Classroom. I see that Professors Alex Bolla and Ed Martin are also having trouble getting contributors to join their discussion. As I told colleagues in a post to CTL 1799, the only posts I've had to the SBiw "blog" -- linked in the sidebar -- are those which I've prompted F2F and over the phone.

I'll be back with links to the files mentioned above.

Kinda neat that they were developed entirely with our software. Our customers rave about our hardware. Those who've delved into our growing software library, looking for ways to "make it sing," are even more enthused.

Back in Calgary.

It's been a hectic week. While this has been my "reading week" at school, I've not had much chance to get away from my studies. Our team's presentation for our class is due next week and there is much to be done.

I've found it extremely stressful in that I've not been able to spend as much time as I'd like, and normally do, on school work this week. I recognize that there's no sense in beating one's self up over something that can't be helped, but I've found it stressful nonetheless.

Nearly as stressful is the fact that I'm not going to be able to go skiing/'boarding with a group of workmates tomorrow at Lake Louise (44 cm of snow in the last 5 days), because I've got too much school work to do over the weekend ;-)

Another post from California.

Today I made the trip to San Francisco--actually Millbrae, CA--to visit a couple of customers who attended yesterday's session in Sacramento, CA.

Today I learned that I prefer driving the freeways around Sacramento and San Francisco to those around Los Angeles, California. There is still a lot of traffic in this part of California, but drivers don't seem as ready to "endanger self and others" as they seem to be in and around LA.

Following our meeting, my hosts -- Steve and Larry -- took me on a tour. Here's a picture of me sitting on a marker for the San Andreas fault, taken by Larry.

Thanks to Steve and Larry for the tour!

A post from Sacramento, CA. Here ahead of SMART Master's sessions for the SMART Board(TM) interactive whiteboard. This is my first trip to Sacramento and I'm enjoying the experience. We're hosting our sessions at the Capitol Hyatt Regency, which is across the street from the state legislature.

Just back from a trip to Banff.

Stayed at the Banff Springs Hotel. The Springs really is a marvelous facility. Here's a picture from the window of our room last night at twilight.

A picture from inside "the castle" as some refer to the Hotel.

And another of the view out the window across from the dining room where we had dinner last night and brunch this morning. Spectacular.

Special thanks to our hosts for the weekend, Bennett Jones LLP.
